Are you a student seeking a placement opportunity?
Are you an undergraduate?
If you are currently studying an undergraduate degree in a social science related subject, you can apply for this unique opportunity to develop your academic skills in a commercial environment, gain valuable experience for your CV, and be supported by a dedicated programme funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). You will be paid a training allowance, which is tax exempt.
Are you a postgraduate?
If you are currently studying a postgraduate course and you receive funding from the ESRC, you are eligible to apply for the Social Science Workplace Experience Programme. In 2007, ESRC funded postgraduates took part in placements in SME’s and large private sector organisations. You can apply to work within SME’s, social enterprise agencies, third sector organisations and private sector companies.
Are you a business with a placement opportunity?
Is your organisation an SME? Third Sector? Social Enterprise?
Then you are eligible to apply for the Social Science Workplace Experience Programme.
Step Enterprise is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council to match undergraduates and postgraduates with a range of organisations. Social science encompasses a range of academic disciplines, so whether your placement requirement is focused upon research, development, planning or evaluation, we can search for students with the relevant skills. Mentoring and guidance from a local placement organiser will be made available to you throughout the placement process.
